Charisms – Special Gifts from the Holy Spirit
In Catholic teaching, charisms are special gifts of the Holy Spirit given to individuals for the building up of the Church and the service of others. They are not primarily for personal holiness or status, but for mission—helping the Christian community grow in faith, unity, and love. Charisms can take many forms, such as teaching, leadership, healing, hospitality, prophecy, or service, and they are found among clergy, religious, and lay people alike. When discerned and exercised in harmony with the Church, charisms become powerful instruments through which God works for the common good and the evangelization of the world.

The parish needs your special gifts—your charisms—to help in every area of its life, including evangelization, spiritual growth, and service. The Holy Spirit has entrusted each person with unique abilities meant to be shared, not kept hidden, so that the whole community may flourish. Whether through welcoming others, teaching the faith, leading prayer, serving those in need, or quietly supporting parish life behind the scenes, your gifts help make Christ present and active in the parish. When parishioners generously offer their charisms, the Church becomes more vibrant, faith is deepened, and the mission of spreading the Gospel is strengthened for the good of all.
